Medieval Blog 4

A lot of people were there. People from nearby towns were there. Men and boys mostly. I think I even saw the grocier placing bets. It was about 3 months ago. The tournaments are very popular. Everybody loved seeing two men killing each other. They were laughing and cheering like no tomorrow. I hated it. I can't stand torture and other barbaric things like that.

I think that Medieval times are very different from Civilization now and the same in many ways a well. Civilization is almost completely dependant on Electricity. But the technology is based on the same ideal, getting things done such as Washing boards versus Washing Machines. Both wash clothes. One may use technology and the other doesn't but it is the same idea.

An example is Family and Culture. Family is just as important now as it was then. Culture is based on the same idea. God and the Bible. There are different versions of the bible but it all means the same thing. There are different beliefs and religions such as Catholic, Christian, Methodist, and many many more. There all based on Gods and a kind of Bible. People have different views on what it says. Some religions may understand it differently but it is still based on the same thing. Although Morals and Virtues have changed now that parenting rolls are changing. Children and teens were handed more responsebility and and now alot are taken away For behavioral reasons. Back in medieval times Children and teens did NOT sass back their parents of the consequences would be severe. Nowadays things like that are not taken as seriously.

Government has changed and developed a lot too. Back in medieval times there were Kings and Queens, nobles, dukes, and such. Now there is the President, Vice President, First Lady, Senators, House Of Representatives, Secretaries, Three Branches of Government. Alot has changed. In Medieval times government was a monarchy. Mono means Singular. SO then one person was in control. Now there is Checks and Balances so power is evenly distributed among all three branches. If it was not balances our great Democracy would eventually turn into a Monarchy. One person in complete power. The wrong person with ALL that power is not smart. They could make rediculus laws stupid decision and put the United States in a utterly horrible complete UPROAR!!!

Events have changes a lot too. Tournaments with killing and other barbaric things are illegal. Now there are baseball and basketball rather then Killing knights. Baseball is called the Favorite American Past Time. NOT KILLING!!!

Medieval Blog Entry 3

In my little town I don't talk to many people except for the butcher, patients, my family and Daisy. Not many people have very much time on their hands to do whatever and talk to little old me. Me and my dad eat mostly meat and vegtables. Fruit on occaisons. We believe it does a body good to eat healthily. We try and maintain a healthy balance of nutrients. In my town called Gracken our house is down the main road take a left at the fork in the road go right at he intersection and about a half of a mile down there is a sign that says "Physician". That is where I live.

Medieval Blog Entry 2

In My Village there is a King and Queen. The laws that they create are fair but the punishments are unbearable. The laws are...
  • No cheating in bets
  • No Stealing
  • No Lying
  • No rebellion
  • Stay Faithful to your Church and God
  • You must have a job.
  • If you have extra to spare, give to the needy.

I agree with all of these except for the last one. If your poor then you can't expect somebody else to take care of you. That is basically saying "I'LL DO IT FOR YOU" and that is not the way life goes. The punishments are having to stand in he most public place with you attached to this big wooden thing and people walk by and throw things at you. It is completly humiliating.

In my family we are all Christians. The Heavenly father is very important. We take that seriously in our family.

Normally there is no conflict in our little town. Except for this one time Woody Horsekeeper tried rebelling against the king. When he got his punishment his face turned as red as his very own blood! That was very hard to watch but i don't think the fairness is quite right.
